Year 10 students win Franklin Scholars competition
Huge congratulations to the Year 10 Franklin Scholars who have today won first prize at a Festival of Ideas event held at Copthall School, Edgware. The day saw three teams of our students taking part in a variety of events, all aimed at coming up with solutions for problems. These included issues as varied as elderly people's loneliness and how to get more girls interested in STEM. At lunchtime, an 91ÖÆƬ³§ team won a competition to build a tower out of pasta and marshmallows; their tower even had a social inclusion twist as it contained a variety of sweets and was topped off with a flag reading 'Everyone welcome!' At the end of the day, the winning teams were announced and 91ÖÆƬ³§ placed both 1st and 3rd, winning a cash prize for the school as well as tickets to the Nelson Madela exhibition. Well done to all involved (listed below), and to Miss Sacks for all her work with the students.
