Hollie wins heats of Rotary Club Young Chefs Competition
Congratulations to year 11 student Hollie, who won the Watford Rotary Club Heats of the Young Chefs Competition. The competition was held at the Food Academy, West Herts College, and was judged by chefs at the Food Academy.
Hollie represented St Clement Danes School in the competition and had two hours to cook two healthy dishes. Judges Pedro and Andy praised Hollie’s entries, stating she had completed her dishes in fine style, and awarded her entries 118/130 marks. As a result of winning the heats, Hollie will now go on to compete in the regional final at North Herts College, which will be held in February.
Hollie’s dishes were a Butternut and Feta Risotto and a reduced fat and sugar Chocolate Fondant, which the judges stated both looked and tasted excellent.
Well done to Hollie on her success; we wish her continuing success at the regional finals in February.
